Article has a lot of information about the Spartan and about the game. The writer says he got a final feel from the ending (like the saga was over) plus Itagaki said but not confirming that DOA4 would be the last DOA fighting game Cry Baby Cry Baby Cry Baby . When he was interviewed in PLAY magazine a while back, he said he wouldn't be making videogames forever. I hope that's not true.

While DOA: Code Cronus (working title) and the upcoming DOAX2 will carry the Dead or Alive name (it's a good name) into the future, the fighting game series won't. Itagaki is looking forward, and not behind him, and while he's proud of the series and the door it has opened for Team NINJA, the next-generation beckons, and he's heeding the call.

Nah, I agree with Itagaki. I'd like to see him work on new stuff, new series, new ideas. If you make a developer continue to make the same game with added tweaks over and over again they'll eventually get bored and won't put the effort into the title anymore. He already said he doesn't think he can improve DOA anymore so I think it's a smart move to let the series end. I don't want DOA to end up like Tekken....

I've gotten used to having DOA games release regularly. This is going to change alot of things.

Well... there's nothing stopping him from going back to previous DOA's and updating them with DOA4's game engine. There's some hope for you. Wink
