NINJA GAIDEN 3 RELEASE DATE, COLLECTOR'S EDITION & PREORDER DETAILS

TECMO KOEI Europe announced today the release date for the standard and Collector's Edition of its upcoming action-packed title, NINJA GAIDEN 3. Developed by Team NINJA, this innovative new installment of the celebrated core action series will be available on March 23, 2012 for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and the PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system. A NINJA GAIDEN 3 value-packed Collector's Edition will also be available for both console platforms on the same day.

NINJA GAIDEN 3 spotlights the series' beloved Japanese dark hero, Ryu Hayabusa, with an original story developed by famed writer Masato Kato bringing new depth to the game's intense swordsmanship and hardcore action combat. Led by Yosuke Hayashi, Team NINJA has crafted the game with the sole purpose of giving players a new experience as the man, the human being, behind the mask of the world's greatest ninja, Ryu Hayabusa.

As well as adding depth to this mysterious and complex character, the game promises heightened intensity during close combat fighting while featuring new competitive and co-op online multiplayer modes that bring a new aspect to the NINJA GAIDEN series. Once more, on March 23rd, it will be time for players to pick up the infamous Dragon Sword, hone its blade and sharpen their skills.

Team NINJA has also prepared a special treat for those who preorder NINJA GAIDEN 3: an exclusive, special downloadable two-character demo stage from their upcoming DEAD OR ALIVE 5 fighting game, which will give fans a first chance to experience the game's high quality and high energy action fighting before it hits stores in 2012.

Meanwhile, the premium NINJA GAIDEN 3 Collector's Edition offers a truly deluxe package as it includes an exclusive NINJA GAIDEN 3 "Unmask" game art book, the official game soundtrack CD, a unique collectors "Duel of the Masked" figure, as well as the chance to play four characters in the DEAD OR ALIVE 5 demo stage.

Here's some details for the US it differs a little:
To get the DOA5 demo you have to preorder at GameStop or Amazon, GameStop preorders will get Ryu and Hitomi and Amazon preorders will get Hayate and Ayane, the collector's edition will get all 4 characters but an only be bought from GameStop or EB games, the collector's edition will cost $99.99. other then that the collectors edition seems to be the same

It seems as though for the US characters are not exclusive to platform but rather to stores
still no pricing for the UK but $100 comes up to about 65 quid

the NG3 web site has been updated, there's a profile for Ayane now and they also added the release day to the site, and some new screens including ones of Ryu fighting an Apache... the helicopter not the Native American...
they could have maybe gone with a chopper that was a bit more exiting, like something that would have come out of DOA tec an Apache seems a little flat after the spider tank

Ayane:
"A young ninja and ally of Ryu Hayabusa. Raised in isolation in the Hajinmon sect of the Mugen Tenshin ninja clan, she is an eternal outsider, trusting very few and keeping all others guessing about her next move. "

A helicopter battle? Sweeeeet. The tank and the heli from NG1 were my favourite bosses.

Why is the Army against Ryu? In the consequence trailer you could see this general-commander guy from the army and he was saying "you so called ninjas are ghosts of a forgottten age". So I guess the chopper makes sense here Smile

The yellow ninja has the character "love" on his back Laughing

The more I look at the characters' faces, the weirder they look... that thing called the "uncanny valley", that's a bit how I feel... they are realistic, but not quite enough to not look strange. Especially the girls actually. That "Lovelace" chick has some seriously sdisturbing look.

I guess Ayane is dressed like that because she is in Dubai and trying to fit in
With the other women, good detail.

Ninja Gaiden 3's Hero Mode Explained

New multiplayer details too

And you thought sticking your finger in a light socket hurt!

Ninja Gaiden III is slicing into Europe on March 2012 and new details are finally starting to sneak our way. This time up, Game Informer recently published an article that broke new details on the controversial Hero Mode in the game, a new approach for the series that's pushing to attract gamers who are more casual than the game's usual hardcore crowd.

In this drastic departure for the series, all blocking and evading will be performed automatically. We know that every Sigma fan's stomach just turned over, which is understandable as these two techniques are the basic elements of the game's fighting engine. Anyone who's rolled the end credits of these games knows what an elite club they're in just by taking a glimpse of the online leader boards, which are only unlocked upon completion. We can definitely understand anyone who might feel betrayed by this new mode, but Team Ninja is injecting a much deeper story into the game than we’ve seen before and they want everyone to be able to enjoy it evenly.

When Game Informer asked Team Ninja’s producer Yosuke Hayashi if it would be possible for gamers to die in Hero Mode, he replied:

As for whether players will ever see a ‘Game Over’ screen... we haven’t decided yet.

While Move support hasn’t yet been fully explained, it's possible that Move could be used as to tool to draw in these casual gamers, but we hope that the long-time hardcore fans of the series will get some use of the controller as well.

Think he's dead yet?

A few other details emerged about the game’s multiplayer mode(s) as well: co-op play based on sections of the single player campaign and online team battles are two of the modes that will be available in the game. The team battle modes are especially appealing as they'll feature a levelling system where you’ll start out as a weak ninja wannabe and work your way up into the ranks of a Master Ninja. Of course, it wouldn’t be right if it didn’t come loaded with ways to customise your ninja and unlock weapons along the way. Anything else has yet to be seen about these exciting online modes, but we’ll bring you any new details as they slice our way.

What’s your take on the new push to the casual crowd in this long running hardcore series? Are you ready to start slicing your way up the ranks in the new online multiplayer mode? Let us know your thoughts one these new entries to the series in the comments section below.

Isn't hero mode's auto-block only when you're on low health? Garza said something like that if I remember…
