Guys, I suggest you guys put NGS2 on 720p, it look better and sharper that way.
Could depend on what TV you have, I have a 52" Sony Bravia, I think 720p look best for NGS2 because that's its native resolution.
You can output to 1080p, but still 720p will look way better if your are playing on a HDTV. _________________

I use 720p because the maximum res my TV can go is 1080i, so yeah it looks great, |

There's no sense in upscaling this game to 1080p. |

yeah, it was 720p native, why up-scaling to 1080p to make it look worst?
Team Ninja just said it can output to 1080p, not 1080p native resolution.
it might depend on people's TV, but playing on a big HDTV, i still gonna said 720p look best for NGS2.
i have tried 720p, 1080i, and 1080p, and i see 720p native look so much crisper and sharper. _________________

You really have no idea of what scalers really do if you think that there is ANY difference between 1080p and 720p modes. The only difference is that if you run it at 1080p, the PS3 is doing the upscaling and not your TV, hence less post processing done by your TV and better control response (insusceptible really).
When you check the resolution tag on screen, that's merely the input resolution. TV's have scalers that upscale to their native resolution of the panel so if your TV does 1080p maximum, set it to that. The demo had some issues and the frame rate was a tad smoother in 720p, but all is gone in the final game.
There are a handful of games that run at both output modes and the system defaults to 720p because the 1080p mode is actually inferior (lower resolution or no AA). Such was the case with SCIV, VF5 among others. NGS and NGS2 aren't one of those cases. |

And most games dont even have 1080p today. It costs way too much ressources.
You can get a sharper look with 720p and 2xAA instead of a higher resolution as well. No need for 1080p. _________________

What are you talking about? Set the game to whatever the max resolution of your TV is. Period. The game is using the PS3 scaler. |

The upscaled output retains the AA as well. As for the need, read my post. |

i already try that MX or Umon from gamefaqs, i still gonna use 720p cause it still better fo NGS2 and cause less screen tearing as well, 1080p look good, not crisp like 720p and cause more screen tearing. _________________

I find 1080p to look a little worse and run a little worse, to be honest. Also, the upscaling for this game causes the XMB to be blurry and I hate it.
720p for this game. |

I have my Ps3 set to 1080p on HDMI cable. It works and runs fine for me. I'm sure if I wanted to be anal about it I could sit and stare and really scrutinize the graphics but... I'd rather chop heads off then bother worrying about this. _________________

yeah, but if i were u, i should really set the PS3 to 720p cause trust me, u will see NGS2 look much clearer than 1080p. _________________
