I need your help: my father spent too much time in playing Warcraft III frozen throne, he wanna try another game (only strategy game on PC, he doesn't like other genres) and he told me find to find him another good game. So if you have any game to advise, it would help me, thanks!

i would recommend lotr battle for middle earth II and/or company of heroes. the reasons are that both have voice spoken tutorials which for some reason is a must for me. i've tried the star wars one (empire ar war) and sins of a solar empire and it's just too much reading and i lose interest quickly.

also - universe at war and supreme commander both got very high reviews but my pc isn't sweet enough to run them very good (the vehicles looks like they were made from legos).

Get him Command & Conquer: First Decade. MORE then enough to keep him satisfied. Trust me.

Company of Heros

Supreme Commander

Command and Conquer

Universe at War

IIRC, they all got rave reviews, and C&C3 just got a new expansion.

Supreme Commander does its large scale battles better than anyone else.

Company of Heros supposidly does great things for the genre, if reveiws are to be trusted.

And the GI review of UaW was pretty much positive.

Thanks, I'll have a look at these games (and checked if they are released in France). My father doesn't like reading and he always skip cutscenes.

I'm from Europe as well and all those games were released here if I'm not mistaken.

Gotta love Blizzard.

if your dad loves WCIII, then im guessing he would like STARCRAFT.

Check it out : Starcraft And its Expanision Pack : Starcraft:Brood War

Excellent replay value for Campiagn. Can play alone vs computers, IS THE BEST STRATEGY GAME FOR ONLINE

~ Yes its been the top for over 6 years. Came out in 1998. Yes its pretty old, but Still has KICK ASS graphics.. Play it before you judge it.

Oh, and Starcraft II is coming out... ( after 10 years of waiting, loyal SC Fans!)

SC Inspired the making of WC btw.. =)

My lunch hour consists every day at work of busting out my laptop and playing Command & Conquer 3: Kane's Wrath. It's bar-none the best real-time strategy title ever made. Perfect balance of speed, balanced units, and raw firepower in the late-game. You need to buy Command and Conquer 3 to use the expansion. But both are phenomenal.

C&C is very different. It's like NG to DMC.
