Behold, the new Ninja Gaid... err Bayonet... err no I mean Metal Gear Solid! Very Happy

http://www.jeuxvideo.com/news/2011/00055237-metal-gear-rising-change-de-developpeur-de-nom-d-orientation-et-de-scenario.htm

Okkay... I know the classic MGS formula was getting tired from sequelitis but if they change it so drastically I wonder if they just could'nt have made up an entirely new game and let good ol' Snake rest in peace.

On the other hand knowing Platinum Game is on board is a relief. The graphic style is appealing too.

The title is totally lame by the way. "Revengeance", seriously....

This is what the game was supposed to look like initially. A pity.

Cutscenes look nice but the gameplay kind of looks like a button masher. I wonder how far along they are with the game. I liked Bayonetta so let's see what they do with this.

I'm still trying to figure out what happened, the look and feel seems
way different than when i first saw the cut, cut, cut, trailer.
not really sure if it's a good or bad thing yet though, don't get me wrong it still looks
bananas but i might have liked the original look a little better.

New trailer starting at the more important part:

Some developer commentary:

www.youtube.com/watch?v=3AQ_MBnEq-k#t=3m33s

Looks to stay true for the most part to their initial concept with the cut and take and agile stealth elements. Enemies don't die in one hit like the first team had it originally, but that would be so boring. Instead sneak attacks are one hit criticals. No non-lethal takedowns (thank goodness). Also it has a double bladed staff and the developers have said there will be more weapons, I'm thinking dual katanas at least. It looks to outdo single player Ninja Gaiden in just about every way possible.

This looks like a testosteroned, cyberpunk version of NG3, basically. The stealth-kills haven't been scrapped though, that's a good thing.

I'm still a bit skeptical, but less than with the first trailer.

More game details. What got me was the no dodge or block, just all out aggression and parry. No rolling or sliding around the enemy.
