I really don't mind getting points for doing them, I just think that you should only get the points once per encounter. They should also be seperate, so you can get a possible extra 7K points(5K for UT, 2K for ET). Enemies killed by a UT shouldn't release any essence at all either so that should help negate the possibility of chaining them.

The purpose of UTs are to be powerful moves. The problem is that they yield huge benefits with little risks. IMO, they are like limit breaks in Final Fantasy 7 but Ninja. Seeing people spam UTs on Eternal Legend makes the game look very repetitive. They need to make a way to reduce the amount of times you can do it. That's why I said they should yield no essence but I like my second idea better where you should only be able to do UTs from blue or red essence.

LOL... I knew this was going to happen. Lots of people think UT's are 'fine' the way they are set up now... Well, hate to be the bearer of bad news but UT's are broken. Simple as that. They rape any lower class fiend (Once you get the Dabi you might as well throw the challenge out the window...), give you more money, give you easy points and they are insanely simple to pull off (My sister, who rarely plays games was able to get the hang of it within 15 minute.) If that isn't broken then I don't know what is... I find it ironic how a move called Ultimate Technique can be pulled off with little 'technique'.

I want balance. There's tons of things that can be done to UT's alone to balance them out, Keylay's already mentioned one possible way which I happen to like the idea. I'd like to hear some more suggestions.

Then let's go back to NG's UT style. Doing the GBC challenge with no items, no ninpo and only the TDS was rock hard because I was constantly wondering where the damned essence was going to be. Self-charge makes NGB a helluva lot easier.

Actually, did you ever play the NG demo? Pulling off UT's was hard as hell in it. You needed like a bajillion essence orbs to pull one off. It was crazy.

What if the UTs were quick button combinations.

Like you keep Y pressed, and on impact with the enemy you have to string a bunch of buttons to keep the ut going till the end. If you miss, you would be stuck in recovery while the enemy is completly free from his...

I'm still working on figuring out how this would work with the Dabi and Warhammer.
