I will have my finger's crossed... But I have so little faith in Hayashi.

Razor's Edge was decent recovery from the mess of the first release, but he's screwed up the series so bad that I just hope Team Ninja can recover the greatness of the first two Gaidens with the next IP.

We'll see.

Yeah, I hear you and worry too.

But, I do think they definitely got the message loud and clear with the debacle of vanilla NG3. Now, the question is can they execute on the lessons learned and produce a great NG4. I think they can actually. Honestly, Razor's Edge really impressed me and went a long way to restoring my faith in Team Ninja---it was really only held back by being still built on the original NG3 level design, etc.

I am not one of the fans who thinks Itagaki is necessary for a good NG game. Future games might never match the brilliance of NGB or NG2, but I think they can still have the potential to make a great game.

Well personally I already prefer RE to NG2 Vanilla so I'm pretty confident that they can make something great if they polished RE's mechanics and correct its flaws (which are mostly remnants of NG3's).

Removing that weird after-dodge lag, nerfing or tweaking SoB a bit, making Cicada Surge more useful and creating new ninpo would be a good start. Then reducing the number of enemies and diversifying them like in the first two games, and designing less linear and more interactive levels. With all that I will probably be satisfied. A few puzzles wouldn' hurt either, if they are a bit more elaborate than "go fetch the key of the door, that is just up the stairs" (yes, I'm looking at you, NG2).

A good idea I think would be to remove automatic dismemberments and give that funtion to the grab-counter instead. So mixing dismemberments with SoB in a single mechanic. It already happens sometimes with the gorilla-chimeras in RE.

I just hope this will come out on PS3...
