Quote:
In this game, various parts of the body including the head, both arms, and the feet, can be cut off. Further, the head and body are related such that death results immediately if the character is decapitated. In realistic terms, the severing of a persons arms and/or feet, as by a sword slash, would not lead to an instantaneous death. The 'system of effacement' is a game mechanic by which pressing the Y button causes an automatic finishing attack to be executed once any of the enemy's four limbs are slashed off.

One can also include this move as part of a combo. The games we make, such as DOA, accept input with a substantial delay. This is also the case in Ninja Gaiden 2. Take, for example, the move XXY. After the game detects the cutting off of a piece of the opponent in the combo XX, if Y is pressed during the input delay, the 'system of effacement' is put into effect. Even supposing that this could not be detected, if the opponent is not being cut into pieces, the normal XXY attack would still have a delay in execution. Of course, because of this delay, it might be possible for it to be plugged with a shuriken, but doing this would also carry a risk. However, in circumstances such as these, if the hit detection is precise, one naturally become able to conduct themself more skillfully.

So if XX decpitates an enemy. If you press Y right away, the Tiger Roar would come out but if you delay it, Ryu will do an Obliteratoin technique.

Nice. Very nice, combo's are going to be incredibly varied now, not to mention incredibly brutal. I simply can't wait for this game, I need a demo ASAP.

Ooh guys, The more I know about this game the more I get impatient. Itīs really terrible, I want more information about it, but the more I get the more terrible it becomes.

Waiting for this game is hell on earth like never before Confused I was really worried about the combo possibilities in this sequel, but now it seems that it might be still a very deep combo system Very Happy

Thanks for the information Keylay!!
