The differences with Halo 2 are unbelievable!

just look at the strenghth of the Wartogs, I threw 8 grenades at it and it still lived. In Halo 2, 1 well-placed Plasma grenade can take out a Warthog.

Also, the way a Warthog drives. Now I can understand why people said the Warthogs in Halo 2 are glued to the ground.

and then there's the whole "dual Wielding", that leaves some weapons a lot less powerful in H:CE (cough*needler*cough*)

and of course the Body Health, besides the shields.

and this is just off the top of my head, after less than an hour of playing.

Destructible vehicles don't exist in Halo CE and I prefer that. Vehicles played a large role in Halo CE but sadly Halo 2 f*cked everything up with all the gameplay tweaks that weren't needed. The weapon scale in Halo 2 sucks, the physics in Halo 2 suck, the level design in Halo 2 sucks... Basically Halo 2 sucks period. Halo CE all the way.

I played Halo 2 before Halo 1, and I prefer Halo 1.

I've played Halo 1, didn't bother to play Halo 2. Halo 1 was fun while it lasted.

actually I hate that you can't destroy vehicles in HaloCE. that makes every n00b with a ghost far too strong.

you're right about level design but I'm not sure what you mean whith physics and weapon scale.

anyway, so far I think Halo 2 is better in Multiplayer(just a bit though) and Halo CE is better in Single Player(by FAR)

Ghosts are nothing. Nades are just as deadly in Halo CE than they are in Halo 2. IMO, more deadly because Master Chief doesn't throw them like a girl so they're easier to aim. If you need a Rocket Launcher with a lame ass n00bed up Lock On feature then I don't know what to tell ya'.

The physics in Halo 2 suck. Period. The Havok engine just messed up the WHOLE Halo formula. You'll see what I mean after you play Halo CE for awhile and try to play Halo 2 again.

As for the weapon scale, Halo 2's weapon scale is SOOOO one dimensional compared to Halo CE's. Every gun was useful in Halo CE. You just had to know how to use it. In Halo 2, this gun will always outbeat that gun in a certain situation. Halo 2 just came down to whoring the power weapons. Match starts, mad dash for rockets or sniper, hold onto them for the rest of the match. No skill, just luck. Halo CE's weapons would respawn in no matter if someone had them or not. Every n00b in the world b*tched about the Pistol in Halo CE and I can garuantee you that the only reason they b*tched is because they suck at aiming.

Halo CE was fair. The person with the better skill will always win in an encounter no matter what you were holding. In Halo 2 if you turn the corner and are face to face with a guy holding the RL or the sword, your dead. Nothing you can do about it, just bend over and take it like a man. In Halo CE there was none of that, the Pistol was the great equalizer. It was the all around weapon, useful in EVERY situation. Of course the shotgun is the preferred weapon of choice in close range, the rocket launcher for mid range, and the sniper for long range, but if you were skilled with the pistol you had a chance. You always had a chance. There are no garuantee'd kills in Halo CE. If you knew what you were doing, you were ready for anything.

Well, I just finished it.(shut up, school's begun and I've only been able to mlay 1-2 hours a day max. and half of the time I had a friend over, so we got stuck playing Multiplayer. and I've bought some new games last week.) I loved the last 5 minutes(10 actually, I was shot in the back by an elite and some flood guy with a shotgun about 2 meters before the finish the first time. I have no idea who actualy killed me, but it ws annoying.) with the Warthog. it's too bad Halo 2 doesn't have something like that.

anyway, I think that, even in multiplayer, Halo: CE is the better game. I still stand by my opinion that the vehicles are too strong in Halo CE though.

also, I still don't understand what you meant witht the Phisics, I didn't have any problems playing Halo 2 after Halo CE, maybe it's because I payed Halo 2 before I played CE.

oh, and Sabotage

yeah, you'd survive a close encounter with a rocket launcher in CE. Rolling Eyes

^^^ I think he meant because in those weapons can home in on you in Halo 2. You could still duck or jump over the rocket at the last second in halo CE, but in Halo 2 they can just lock on to you, same with the sword.

It'd be stupid for the RL holder to fire a rocket at close range. He'd take damage from the splash damage if he fired it. The most likely outcome would be both players dead because the person without the RL should melee therefore taking out the RL users shield. If the RL user still fired after that both players would die. No one would get a point. The RL has no consequence for firing at close range in Halo 2.

Add this to the long list of another weapon inbalance in Halo 2.

you can only lock on to vehicles, and a Ghost/Warthog/Spectre can dodge it.

but still, what do you mean with physics?
