meh, hurricanes occur yearly, you can say a lot about this. I'm sure being religious as I am that this may be a sign from god. God is punishing us for something, for war? for crimes? for lies?

I always look at it like this:
You live on the east coast, you deal with hurricanes.
You live on the west coast, you deal with earthquakes.
You live in the middle, you deal with tornadoes.
Natural disasters are going to happen anywhere you live, nothing you can do to change that. _________________

I'd say it's more a sign from Mother Nature than from God. Global warming is what's causing this, it's been proven. Also, hurricanes generally work through a 50 year cycle. There will be a certain period of time when there's a lot of really harsh hurricanes (like now) and then a calmer period of about 50 years or so. So right now we're just caught in the middle of it.
I feel horribly for all those people though. Can you even imagine losing absolutely everything you have? A lot of those people didn't have insurance either because they couldn't afford it. Which means they really have nothing left. People have lost their pets, and even family members. I can't imagine the pain they're going through.
Even though hurricanes are common when you're on the east coast, this many (it's been, what, nine so far this year?) huge ones is an oddity, generally speaking.
I'm glad I live where I do. We've had a couple small tornadoes this year (which is slightly odd), but it was nothing compared to what's happening in the States.

that just hit me. i believed that the people long ago counted the years wrong. natural disaster and dooms day was in supposed to be in year 2000. they counted 5 years wrong or what. _________________

Nothing has really proved that these hurricanes are caused by global warming, it's just a theory. But this hurricane stuff isn't surprising, it happems every year. Last year Haiti was nearly wiped off the map, but people don't realize these things until one like Katrina comes and wakes everyone up.
However, even though the hurricanes are bad I'd rather live on the east, because if a huge earthquake hits California it could be a lot worse. |
