Help I have to memorize a monologue from julius caesar, even more specifically cassius's monologue. I have a copy of it on paper but i am not good at remembering stuff if i just read it. So im looking for an audiobook, and no im not expecting to pay for something that im going to use a couple times. I cannot find a torrent anywhere i even tried google, but there simply isnt one.

Heres the monologue im looking for:
Quote:
Why, man, he doth bestride the narrow world
Like a Colossus, and we petty men
Walk under his huge legs and peep about
To find ourselves dishonourable graves.
Men at some time are masters of their fates:
The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars,
But in ourselves, that we are underlings.
Brutus and Caesar: what should be in that 'Caesar'?
Why should that name be sounded more than yours?
Write them together, yours is as fair a name;
Sound them, it doth become the mouth as well;
Weigh them, it is as heavy; conjure with 'em,
Brutus will start a spirit as soon as Caesar.
Now, in the names of all the gods at once,
Upon what meat doth this our Caesar feed,
That he is grown so great? Age, thou art shamed!
Rome, thou hast lost the breed of noble bloods!
When went there by an age, since the great flood,
But it was famed with more than with one man?
When could they say till now, that talk'd of Rome,
That her wide walls encompass'd but one man?
Now is it Rome indeed and room enough,
When there is in it but one only man.

If anyone can help me solve this little dilemma, like say, you just HAPPEN to have it on cd... i would be appreciative.

Unfortunately, my mic appears to have broken. Besides which, I can't do a thespian accent for ****, being Glaswegian. Being an English lit student, I can suggest something.

What helps with Shakespeare is that the plays are written in iambic tetrameter (rhythm: da DA da DA da DA da DA), so you accent particular words in the much the same style as modern rap music, and reading it aloud means you'll have a much better understanding of the plays, just like Spencer (Faerie Queen), Sidney (Astrophil and Stella) and Milton (Paradise Lost), also from the 17th century. Another advantage of reading it yourself, as opposed to listening to someone say it, is that your mouth learns the pattern of movements associated with the words. Essentially, you are learning "parrot fashion", but also getting some practice time in.

You can have a bit of poetic licence in where the accents go, so I'll put bold tags around the first few lines to show what syllables should be forced in my reading, and italics around those that are 'dampened'; that is, said quieter, but as part of the overall rhythm.

I hope this helps. If you need me to annotate the whole thing, please say so, I'm happy to help. I might even be able to find a cheap mic if it comes to that.

Wow, dude thats a nifty sig you got there, where did you get that font?

well its for speech/liturature...

and so far ive got half of it memorized, which is a C, but trying to go for a B but the third part is really hard!

this is the third part, and if i get this far memorized, then hopefully ill get a B if i dont get too many screw-ups. you see she takes off however many points for whatever screwups you have, but thats out of a separate 40 points, just memorizing the thing gets you an automatic 40 points. i could go into detail, but i think you guys get it.

i especially hate the "meat doth this" bullsh!t which doesnt belong in the english language in the firstplace...
