I think the girls suck in this game, they have too long combos, that makes them easy to counter + the combos dont do much damage either. (not kasumi and an other one that I cant remember the name of)

Nah, despite what many think, Helena is not better than Ryu. Helena's big flaws are her lack of priority moves and she just has way too many mid attacks. She can't really get a frame advantage either. Ryu also has 2 other strength's that I failed to mention that give him BIG ADVANTAGES. They are:

1.) Ryu will own anybody in low ceiling environments (Ryu is double deadly on the DOATech level.)

2.) Ryu will own anybody on water and ice.

Explain? I though only Leon and Bayman had water techniques.

I'm not talking about moves like that. I'm talking about the effects water and ice have on Ryu's attacks.

Ryu has WAY too many Stagger's when he's on water or ice. Most of his Stagger's lead to a free launch as well. Like I said, Ryu will own anybody on water or ice.

You can get really cute with Helena and never put yourself in any recovery. Her mid attacks can easily be put away by hiding them in high/low rainstorms. Not only that, but with her, you can juggle someone pretty much forever.

And lack of priority moves is NOT a flaw. she is more flexible because of that.

That's just it, in order for Helena to be good you have to constantly try to control the match. If a Helena player loses control against a good Ryu player it's all over for her because she lacks a good priority move. You're underestimating the importance of a 'go to' move. Ryu's 7K can easily shatter any of Helena's rushing attempts, and 7K is Ryu's best priority move. It's probably the best priority move in the game IMO.Helena's juggles can be devastating but her launchers can be seen a mile away. Most people just assume Helena is top tier because of her style. An unexperienced player might find her unpredicatable, I on the other hand can see right through her. She's high tier in my opinion, but definately not top tier.

well im good with alotta characters
they're jann lee, ayane, ein/hayate(in DOA3 using ninjutsu), helena(who i just discovered is quite good), and the tengu guy, and ryu hayabusa too
i don't button mash, i did all the exercises with everyone, and picked out the best moves. with ayane i just beat my friends around cus they still cant really predict her moves. and once i master ryu's izuna grab and counters, im pretty sure he'll become my next main guy. and does anyone actually think that bass is good? when i play as him.........i get pwned extremely badly.

Bass is really good in DOA3. I think he's actually top tier in DOA3. I've seen some good Bass players in DOAU but I wouldn't consider him top tier in it.

It depends against who you are fighting. I personaly never lost control of a fight when playing with her. If somebody who is using Helena and is good with her, EVER gains advantage, you lost the match. You siply can't regain your position in the fight.

Also her moves are far from predictable. They might be if somebody who is unexperienced with her goes from animation to animation buttn presses, but if you get a person who can input comands before her animations are done, you will have one hell of a time beating that person.

And like i said before, she is extremely agile.

I consider her a top tier. For the simple reasons that she rewards the experienced player much more then any of the other characters of the game. She was miles better in DOA3.1 though.

I do fear that she might become overpowered in DOA4 now that there are guard brakes.
